The Skills for Life Development Centre is a Professional Development Centre which aims to raise the quality of teaching and learning in adult literacy, numeracy and language (ESOL) provision in Sussex and the South East. Our strategic aims are to: - manage local and regional projects which deliver the Government’s Skills for Life strategy to improve the levels of adult basic skills in England
- support and advise employers, education and training managers and tutors through partnership working, forums and networks, and continuing professional development
- pilot research projects to inform curriculum development and influence educational policy and practice
- promote a culture of continuous improvement in the quality of Skills for Life learning and teaching
- identify and communicate local, regional and national developments in order to maximise opportunities and resources.
Our current project is ESF-funded Skills for Life at Work. You can also visit the Resources section to see materials, case studies and information from previous projects. |
