South East Learning and Skills Awards 2010

Workplace Skills for Life is a challenge so let's celebrate the successes!

The new website for the annual South East Learning and Skills Awards 2010 has now been launched. This is the fourth year providers are invited to make their nominations for outstanding learners and employers across the region.

These prestigious awards celebrate excellence in vocational education across the South East. They acknowledge the outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations whose commitment to learning and skills can serve as an example and inspiration to everyone.

This year the celebration will take place on Thursday 20th May 2010 at Savill Court Hotel, Windsor Great Park, Surrey, and will be hosted by Sky News presenter Charlotte Hawkins.

Functional Skills - network events for March 2010

The LSIS-led Functional Skills Support Programme (FSSP) will be holding free half-day sessions to provide practitioners and managers with the latest information on functional skills and the national support programme for the final year of the pilot.

Move On e-bulletin - December 2009

Move On is now an integral part of the SfLSP (Skills for Life Support Programme) which brings together and builds on the success of the Skills for Life Improvement Programme, Extending the Reach and Improving Quality of Family Learning (ERIQ) and Move On.  The Move On e-bulletin will continue to update you on Move On developments, but will now also alert you to other opportunities, information and resources from the SfLSP partners.

BBC Competition - My Story

My Story is a story telling competition to find the nation's most remarkable true stories. The BBC is inviting the whole country to tell and share their real life stories. The most compelling stories will be told on BBC One in 2010 and the winners will see their experiences published as paperback books.

True stories have inspired some of the most successful books and films of all time; by offering the chance to follow in their footsteps, My Story is a BBC campaign that hopes to get the whole nation writing and reading.

New Practice Tests from Move On

Move On has developed some new practice tests to help you prepare your learners for the National Tests.

The new practice tests have been developed in response to feedback from teachers that the previous practice tests were not providing adequate preparation for the current tests. There are three different types of practice material available. To access the practice tests, go to the Move On website.
