In September 2006 the CfBT Trustees awarded the Centre with a contract to conduct a piece of 14-19 research: A Meeting of the Minds. Initially the objective of the research was to establish the CPD needs highlighted by the implementation of the new Diploma framework through 3 smaller foci. The first project focussed on the implementation of the pan-Sussex electronic ILP and Area Prospectus. The second and third project worked with colleges and schools and focussed on working with the 14-16 age groups. Due to national delays identifying CPD related to the Diploma implementation was not possible and the steering group decided to focus on the CPD needs related to teaching and learning within the 14-16 sector.
